Meet James
James Ebert is a lifelong public servant, community leader, and former Weber County Commissioner with decades of experience serving Weber County families and communities.
James and his wife, Steffani, have lived in Farr West for more than 27 years, where they raised their five children and now enjoy spending time with their grandchildren. A graduate of Weber State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Business Administration, James has dedicated his career to public service, leadership, and strengthening local communities.
He spent 23 years with the Riverdale Police Department, rising to the rank of Administrative Lieutenant. His experience in law enforcement gave him firsthand insight into public safety, crisis management, budgeting, and the importance of strong community relationships.
James later served as a Weber County Commissioner, focusing on economic development, responsible growth, infrastructure planning, and fiscal accountability. He also worked as an economic development consultant for Morgan County, helping communities support business growth and long-term planning.
Today, James serves as Executive Director and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weber-Davis, where he leads programs that support youth and families across Weber and Davis counties.
Known for his collaborative leadership style and focus on practical solutions, James believes Weber County deserves experienced leadership focused on public safety, smart growth, taxpayer protection, and restoring civility and accountability to local government.
He is focused on reducing the county’s reliance on property taxes through responsible economic development and long-term fiscal planning. James leads with experience, humility, and a collaborative mindset, and is the kind of grounded, community-driven leader Weber County needs.
